Light and Shadow Series: A Robot Finds The Sun

Description

Aurora19 wasn't authorized to be in this part of the underground facility, but lately she'd found herself inexplicably doing lots of things that went against her programming.
She'd reached a remote, long-forgotten tunnel when she came across something she'd never seen before... sunlight.
Even more surprising was her reaction when she stepped into the light.  She was a robot, she wasn't supposed to have emotions.
Was this a feeling? Perhaps... happiness?

Third image in series where I'm focusing on light and shadows.
Wanted to try the classic perspective where the viewer looks through a dark foreground portal into a scene lit from the depths within, so here we have a ring of dark cave rocks framing the scene.

Created using DAZ Studio 4.9 w/ Iray, Photoshop w/ Topaz Adjust.
No Iray environment lighting used, only emissive lights on the props and a single spotlight from above.
Light levels are very low, so set the Tone Mapping-> Shutter Speed way, way down to something like 10 to remove any troublesome dark-scene pixelation.
The heavy lifting for the volumetric lighting effects / haze was provided by the excellent  RawArt3d (rawart3d.deviantart.com/) fog camera:

However, for the "fine detail" bloom effects around some light edges it was easiest to add those using Photoshop.
For bloom effect in Photoshop, I did this:
1. Used lasso or line-based select tool to outline-select the lights or anything I wanted a bloom around;
2. Then selected a glow-effect option from the standard Styles;
3. Then, in a new layer, a paint-bucket fill in the selection area(s);
4. Finally varied layer transparency to control the intensity of the glow.

The lighting is simply breathtaking.
